Aetna Expands Coverage for Annual Low-Dose CT Scans Based on Updated USPSTF Guidelines

In March 2021, we shared the news that the US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) updated their lung cancer screening recommendations to include an additional 7 million current and former smokers. Today, we’re excited to see that Aetna, a commercial insurer covering 39 million Americans, has agreed to expand coverage for annual low-dose CT scans based on thisnewly updated recommendation. Awareness of those at risk of lung cancer is directly affecting the availability of the CT screening method for millions of additional patients. We hope these same patients will soon benefit from our FDA-designated breakthrough device, the IONIQ ProLung Test, which measures the body’s earliest response to cancer and has been designed through 7 clinical trials to empower physicians to determine the likelihood of malignancy of lung nodules found in CT scans. Please continue joining us in raising awareness about the world’s deadliest cancer – your efforts are making a difference.
